With 12 museums and art galleries dedicated to an artist, photography, sport or archaeology, Nice offers a cultural experience rich in discoveries. And that\u2019s without counting the number of works of art installed in the city, making Nice an open-air museum. During the summer season, a rich program has been designed to allow residents of Nice and vacationers to discover Nice otherwise<\/span>. Here is a selection of 5 exhibitions not to be missed.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Lympia space<\/strong>
<\/span>Until June 30, 2024, the Herg\u00e9 Museum in Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium is joining forces with the Lympia space, located at the Port of Nice, to unveil in a double exhibition entitled Tintin, Herg\u00e9 and Chang the multiple facets of the father of Tintin through a magnificent selection of precious documents, original drawings and objects. These are presented for the first time on the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the National Sports Museum<\/strong>
<\/span>Until September 22, 2024, the National Sports Museum, easily accessible by tram from the center of Nice, is offering an immersive and interactive exhibition linked to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Called Les Elles des Jeux, the exhibition retraces more than 130 years of our contemporary society through the stories of emblematic women with exemplary destinies.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong>From June 7 to September 29, 2024, the Jules Cheret Museum of Fine Arts is offering an event exhibition called \u201cBerthe Morisot in Nice, Impressionist Stopovers\u201d. Designed as part of the territorial operation of the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay “150 years of impressionism” in partnership with the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, this retrospective evokes the painter’s two stays on the Riviera during the winters of 1881-1882 and 1888-1889.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Terra Amata Museum
<\/strong>From June 21 to September 22, 2024, the Terra Amata Prehistory Museum invites you to discover \u201ctools, between art and science\u201d through an exhibition, halfway between art and science. This therefore invites us to take a new look at the collections of tools discovered on the Terra Amata site in 1966.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Matisse Museum
<\/strong>From June 28 until September 29, 2024, the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3 in Barcelona and the Matisse Museum in Nice, accessible by bus from the center of Nice, are joining forces to organize an exhibition dedicated to the relationships between the works of Henri Matisse and Joan Mir\u00f3: \u201cMir\u00f3Matisse. Du 13 au 27 f\u00e9vrier 2021, Nice deviendra la Capitale mondiale de la mode avec la 137e \u00e9dition du Carnaval sur le th\u00e8me \u00ab Roi des animaux \u00bb. Venez admirer le Roi, la Reine et leurs sujets et participer aux extravagants d\u00e9fil\u00e9s de chars, de grosses t\u00eates et aux \u00e9l\u00e9gantes Batailles de Fleurs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pendant 15 jours, le Carnaval de Nice, avec ses deux manifestations\u00a0: les Corsi carnavalesques (de jour ou de nuit) et les Batailles de fleurs, imposera son style et vous offrira un spectacle burlesque, magique et initiatique d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la mode sous toutes ses coutures.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Les chars cr\u00e9\u00e9s sur le th\u00e8me d\u00e9fileront lors des Corsi carnavalesques (mardis, samedis et dimanche), accompagn\u00e9s de grosses t\u00eates et d\u2019artistes venant du monde entier dans une ambiance festive et populaire, savamment sc\u00e9nographi\u00e9e, pour revisiter l\u2019histoire de la mode, vous faire rire, sourire mais aussi r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur la mode et ses dessous.
