Nice is a cultural and artistic destination in its own right. When you come on holiday to the C\u00f4te d’Azur city, you’re sure to enjoy an ideal setting, with its Promenade des Anglais, palm trees and sunshine. But that’s not all. Here are 4 exhibitions not to be missed this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit the Mus\u00e9e de la Photographie Charles N\u00e8gre<\/strong> to admire the exhibition “Pourquoi m’as-tu abandonn\u00e9e”<\/em>\u00a0until 29 September 2024. For the first time in Nice, the museum is presenting an exhibition devoted to Bettina Rheims, the internationally renowned portrait and fashion photographer. In all, no fewer than 29 photographs taken between 1994 and 2013 in France and the United States will be on show.<\/p>\n

Next up is the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux-Arts Jules Ch\u00e9ret<\/strong>. Until 29 September 2024, the museum is hosting an exhibition entitled “Berthe Morisot \u00e0 Nice. Escales impressionnistes”. Designed as part of the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay’s “150 Years of Impressionism” initiative, in partnership with Genoa’s Palazzo Ducale, the exhibition looks at the painter’s two stays on the Riviera during the winters of 1881-1882 and 1888-1889.<\/p>\n

At the Mus\u00e9e Massena<\/strong>, the spotlight is on drawing, with an exhibition devoted to the cartoonist Cabu. Until 22 September 2024, the museum is offering visitors the chance to (re)discover the late Cabu’s drawings on sport, across all disciplines. The “Cabu, Vive le sport!”<\/em> exhibition is organised around 6 distinct themes: drawing sport, the Olympic Games, football, the Tour de France, supporters and champions of all categories. A retrospective of over 300 satirical drawings about sport.<\/p>\n

Finally, you won’t want to miss the “Mir\u00f3matisse, beyond images”<\/em> exhibition at the Mus\u00e9e Matisse<\/strong> until 29 September 2024. The Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3 in Barcelona and the museum in Nice have joined forces to present an exhibition devoted to the relationship between the works of Henri Matisse and Joan Mir\u00f3. Starting from a biographical base, the exhibition looks back at the decisive moments when the two artists’ views of each other’s work were particularly productive. Not to be missed!<\/p>\n

Located on the Promenade des Anglais, the West End hotel<\/a> is the perfect base for a cultural and artistic getaway in Nice. Du 13 au 27 f\u00e9vrier 2021, Nice deviendra la Capitale mondiale de la mode avec la 137e \u00e9dition du Carnaval sur le th\u00e8me \u00ab Roi des animaux \u00bb. Venez admirer le Roi, la Reine et leurs sujets et participer aux extravagants d\u00e9fil\u00e9s de chars, de grosses t\u00eates et aux \u00e9l\u00e9gantes Batailles de Fleurs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pendant 15 jours, le Carnaval de Nice, avec ses deux manifestations\u00a0: les Corsi carnavalesques (de jour ou de nuit) et les Batailles de fleurs, imposera son style et vous offrira un spectacle burlesque, magique et initiatique d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la mode sous toutes ses coutures.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Les chars cr\u00e9\u00e9s sur le th\u00e8me d\u00e9fileront lors des Corsi carnavalesques (mardis, samedis et dimanche), accompagn\u00e9s de grosses t\u00eates et d\u2019artistes venant du monde entier dans une ambiance festive et populaire, savamment sc\u00e9nographi\u00e9e, pour revisiter l\u2019histoire de la mode, vous faire rire, sourire mais aussi r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur la mode et ses dessous. Car si la mode lance des tendances et bouleverse les codes comme les comportements, elle a aussi un r\u00f4le \u00e9thique et responsable \u00e0 jouer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
