Meet Laurie Jauffret, the lyrical voice of Le Siècle restaurant at the West End Hotel
Every winter, Laurie Jauffret’s luminous voice resonates in Le Siècle restaurant, in the heart of the West End Hotel. A passionate opera singer, she enchants guests at the restaurant’s opera dinners, offering them a musical journey that combines emotion, elegance and sharing.
Laurie Jauffret, an opera soprano from Nice with an international career
Originally from Nice, Laurie Jauffret is an opera soprano who trained at the Conservatoire National de Région de Nice, where she graduated with honours in 2013. Her career has taken her to numerous stages in France and abroad, from the United Kingdom to Belgium and Luxembourg, where she performs a varied repertoire combining opera, sacred music, modern lyrical music and even jazz.
Curiously, it was somewhat by chance that music became a part of her life. ‘I started singing after a karaoke session on holiday with friends when I was 20. I wanted to learn, just for fun, and that’s how it all started.’ A dancer from a young age, Laurie now combines her two passions. It is thanks to dance that she is able to feel at ease on stage.
Opera evenings at Le Siècle restaurant
At Le Siècle restaurant, Laurie Jauffret shares her art in an atmosphere that is both refined and convivial. The audience, often surprised by the magic of opera, is carried away by the power and sweetness of her voice. Regulars return to experience the unique emotion that makes opera dinners so charming.
Laurie likes to play with space and involve her guests, sometimes transforming the entire room into a living stage. The repertoire, which is regularly updated, combines new pieces with great classics, ensuring that each evening offers a different experience. Behind this spontaneity lies constant hard work: the singer rigorously maintains her voice, explores new works and continually enriches her technical mastery.
A memory etched in the minds
Among the many highlights experienced at the Hôtel West End was an evening of fireworks. While the Promenade des Anglais was closed to traffic, Laurie sang a few songs from the restaurant terrace. Quickly, a crowd gathered on the promenade: nearly a thousand people stopped to listen. Time seemed to stand still. This moment of communion with the audience remains one of the most memorable of his career at Le Siècle.
Laurie Jauffret and Gilles San Juan: an artistic partnership
On stage at Le Siècle, Laurie often shares the bill with tenor Gilles San Juan. Together, they form a close-knit duo, united by the same energy and love of sharing music. Their rapport, born of several years of collaboration, creates a chemistry that charms guests and contributes to the magic of the opera evenings at the West End Hotel.
At the same time, Laurie is preparing new projects, notably her participation in the Festival de Musique Sacrée in Cagnes-sur-Mer, where she will perform Mozart’s Requiem alongside Gilles San Juan.
