Nice Carnival 2027: discover the theme “Long Live Love” and book your stay

The Nice Carnival , France's premier carnival with international reach, remains the biggest winter event on the French Riviera. Two weeks of celebration, color, and excitement have just ended, and the city is already longing for the return of these carnival moments.

Back to the 2026 theme: Long live the Queen!

For fifteen days, Nice came alive with the rhythm of carnival parades, day and night, as well as the iconic Flower Battles. Before turning the page, let's look back at some of the floats that marked this edition, so full of power and femininity.

We begin with Tribe Queens, a spectacular five-headed float carried by a warrior worthy of Norse legends, surrounded by figures such as "The African Woman" and "Rebellious India," embodiments of bravery and determination. Next comes Catherine Ségurane, a local heroine. According to tradition, she repelled attackers during the siege of Nice in 1543 by lifting her skirt to show her backside to the troops allied with those of Francis I, a gesture so audacious that it stunned them to the point of retreating.

Another striking figure was the Black Widow, on the "Prick Your Heart" float, a venomous creature with vampire teeth and a purplish complexion, a symbol of dangerous and assertive femininity. Then came the ever-present Frida Kahlo, a feminist and artistic icon, powerfully reinterpreted and true to her identity. Finally, the one who won over the public and took home the prize in the Nice-Matin election: the majestic Queen of the Carnival, crowned with 40% of the vote.

Carnival 2027: Long live love!

During the King's burning, a symbolic moment that concludes each edition, the theme of the next Carnival was revealed: Long Live Love. A universal choice that promises one of the most spectacular editions. The event will take place from Tuesday, February 9th to Sunday, February 28th, 2027.

This new theme is perfect for a stay for two: walks on the Promenade des Anglais, sunsets facing the sea, romantic dinners… and of course, the festivities just a few steps away.

With a consistently high turnout during these unmissable two weeks, it is strongly advised to book your accommodation at the West End Hotel now to guarantee an unforgettable experience, as close as possible to the event.
