On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the French Riviera will come alive with the 17th edition of the Nice-Cannes Alpes-Maritimes Marathon . Much more than just a race, it's a true celebration of sport and the Mediterranean lifestyle. The second largest marathon in France after Paris, it attracts thousands of runners from all over the world each year, drawn by the beauty of a course between sky and sea.
A legendary route from Nice to Cannes, culminating at the Palais des Festivals.
Since 2008, nearly 190,562 participants representing more than 94 nations have taken on the challenge of this legendary marathon. In 2024, 18,000 runners lined up at the starting line, nearly a third of whom were international. Remarkably, almost half of them chose Nice-Cannes for their very first marathon. Voted "World's Most Beautiful Tourist Marathon" by the Forbes Travel Guide in 2018, the event offers breathtaking views, from the palm trees of Nice's Promenade des Anglais to the finish line overlooking the Croisette in Cannes.
And a major new feature this year: the finish line will be located opposite the steps of the legendary Palais des Festivals. A spectacular finale, worthy of this unique marathon!
The Breakfast Run, the day before the Marathon
The festivities begin the day before with the traditional Breakfast Run, free and open to all. Between 200 and 300 participants gather for a morning run along the Promenade des Anglais. More than just a training run, it's a moment of sharing and good cheer, ideal for soaking up the unique atmosphere of the marathon while admiring the Mediterranean.
The start of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon at the foot of the West End Hotel
