Portrait: Allef Calixto Da Silva, bursar at the West End Hotel

Each month, the Hotel West End**** is delighted to highlight one of its employees through a series of questions, in order to learn more about their role and what motivates them in their work. Today, the hotel is featuring Allef Calixto Da Silva, Purchasing Manager at the Hotel West End .

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Allef, I'm 32 years old, and I'm from Brazil. Before joining the West End Hotel, I worked in IT in my home country. It was through a friend who works for the 3A Hotels La Collection group that I discovered the hotel and had the opportunity to join the team. For the past 11 months, I've held the position of Purchasing Manager. My daily tasks include managing inventory and ensuring the hotel's supplies are replenished—a crucial role that allows me to collaborate with various departments to guarantee the smooth operation of the hotel.

What do you find most fascinating about your job?

What I appreciate most is the work environment and the relationships with my colleagues. Even though I work independently, I'm in constant contact with the various departments of the hotel. The whole team is very supportive and always ready to help each other. I particularly enjoy this collaborative spirit and the human interaction, which makes each day different and enjoyable.

What advice would you give to a new employee?

I would tell him first and foremost to be smiling, kind, and always respectful of others. In a hotel, teamwork is essential, and a good attitude makes all the difference. I also think it's important to love what you do: when you're passionate about your job, you naturally want to give your best every day.

What is your favorite spot in the West End Hotel?

I really like the lounge located at the hotel entrance. It's an elegant, warm, and very welcoming space. Guests like to relax there or enjoy a quiet moment, and I think it perfectly reflects the charm and atmosphere of the West End.

What advice would you give to guests to make the most of their stay?

I would advise them to take the time to enjoy the hotel's various spaces, especially the lounge, which is ideal for relaxing. They can also take advantage of the West End's exceptional location: the beach is right across from the hotel and the Promenade des Anglais is just steps away, making it easy to discover all the charm of Nice.
