Each month, the Hotel West End**** is delighted to highlight one of its employees through a series of questions, in order to learn more about their role and what motivates them. Today, the hotel is honoring Georges Pradier, Director of the Hotel West End.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Georges Pradier, and I have been managing the Hotel West End for just over a year. My career in the hotel industry began more than three decades ago, first in Cannes, then in Nice, with stints in Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Courchevel. I have held various positions, always guided by a commitment to service and a desire to create memorable experiences for my guests. Joining the Hotel West End has been an honor: this establishment is a Nice institution, steeped in history and charm.
What do you find most fascinating about your job?
At the heart of our business is people: our guests, of course, but also our teams. Hospitality is about creating special moments, offering a genuine and warm welcome, and surprising guests with subtle yet precious touches. Every day is different, and it's this energy and constant movement that I find so captivating.
What advice would you give to a new employee?
I would tell her to observe, to listen, and above all, to maintain the desire to please. Elegance in service cannot be imposed; it is passed on and learned by example. The key is rigor combined with kindness. Never forget that behind every customer lies a story, an expectation, an emotion.
What is your favorite spot in the West End Hotel?
Actually, several! There's the panoramic terrace of the Ambassador Suite on the top floor, with its sweeping views of Nice, the mountains, and the sea. I also love the lounge bar terrace of our restaurant, Le Siècle, with its live music evenings, which is also a place for sharing and where guests experience special, often unforgettable moments. And finally, there's the Russian Room, perfect for seminars with a sea view! In fact, there are so many places to experience at the Hotel West End that I invite our guests to come and discover them during their stay… and to tell us which ones are their favorites!
What are your best memories of the hotel?
There have been some truly wonderful events: royal weddings, film shoots, prestigious gatherings. But my most cherished memories are often the simplest: the satisfied look of a loyal customer, the progress of a colleague I've watched grow, or those moments of solidarity and team cohesion during major challenges.
What advice would you give to guests to make the most of their stay?
Take the time to experience Nice! Stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, explore the narrow streets of Old Nice, try a socca at the Cours Saleya market, visit the Matisse or Chagall museums… And let yourself be carried away by the city's gentle, sunny atmosphere. At the hotel, don't hesitate to ask our team for advice: we're here to help you create a personalized experience.
