Every month, the Hotel West End**** features one of its employees through a series of questions, aiming to provide a better understanding of their role and what motivates them in their daily work. Today, the hotel presents Ingrid Chin, Head of Seminars and Banquets at this 4-star establishment.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Ingrid Chin, and I've been the Seminars and Banquets Manager at the West End Hotel since August 2024. My career path is a bit unusual. I started in the hotel industry over 20 years ago, then worked in sales, initially in-house and then externally, notably in the Paris region, at the Concorde Lafayette and the Radisson Blu. After that, I moved to the South of France, where I held hotel management and sales management positions. Before joining the West End Hotel, I worked for a professional sports club, where I managed the organization of all events.
What do you find most fascinating about your job?
What I'm passionate about is organizing events for clients, being in contact with them, and above all, succeeding in satisfying them. It's truly this feeling of client satisfaction that represents the greatest reward for me.
What advice would you give to a new employee?
I would say that you need to be versatile, but also kind to clients, colleagues, and especially to yourself. This is fundamental because, without it, you can't last in this profession. Kindness is at the heart of a job well done.
What is your favorite spot in the West End Hotel?
Without hesitation, the restaurant Le Siècle, especially the interior. It reminds me of Parisian brasseries, which, as a Parisian, gives me a little taste of home here in the South. Generally speaking, I really love the hotel. I chose to work here because I already had a real soft spot for the place.
What are your best memories of the hotel?
I don't have one particular standout memory, but what I appreciate is that every day is different. Every event is unique. For me, it's these everyday moments that make this job so rewarding, more so than any single exceptional memory.
What advice would you give to guests to make the most of their stay?
I would advise them to make the most of the hotel: the rooms are magnificent and the Le Siècle restaurant offers excellent cuisine. I also recommend visiting Old Nice , the hinterland as far as Monaco… The region is splendid. In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful in France. Between Cap d'Antibes and the Grasse region, there is so much to discover: authentic gastronomy, a sunny climate, and breathtaking landscapes.
