Responsible travel on the French Riviera: tips from the West End Hotel

For generations, the Hotel West End has embodied the Niçois art of living, combining charm, elegance, and… responsibility. Because travel can also rhyme with respect for the environment, our establishment is actively committed to a sustainable approach and invites its guests to adopt simple but essential actions.

The sustainable commitments of the West End Hotel

The West End Hotel is proud to have been awarded the Green Key label for the third consecutive year, the leading international distinction for sustainable tourism in accommodations. Here are three examples of initiatives implemented at our hotel:

  • Removal of single-dose welcome products: in order to reduce plastic waste and limit waste, traditional hygiene products have been replaced by eco-designed and refillable dispensers.
  • Food waste management: In partnership with Les Alchimistes, specialists in the recovery of biowaste, we collected and transformed 2,930 kg of food waste into local compost. A circular approach that gives our waste a second life while nourishing the soils of tomorrow.
  • Protecting local biodiversity: In partnership with Mr. Torcat, a passionate beekeeper in the region, we sponsor local beehives. This initiative contributes to the preservation of bees, which are essential for pollination and the balance of ecosystems.

These actions, among many others, are part of a comprehensive approach aimed at offering a pleasant, but also responsible, stay.

Tips for an eco-friendly trip to the French Riviera

Respect for the environment doesn't stop at the hotel door! As travelers, you have a key role to play. Here are some tips to make your stay even greener:

  • Waste sorting: Even on vacation, sorting is still important! Bins with compartments are available in the hotel. Please use them to properly separate your waste.
  • Choose natural products: when shopping, opt for local, natural, and environmentally friendly products. This supports local producers while reducing pollution.
  • Respect local nature: in the parks, gardens or trails of the French Riviera, be careful not to pick plants or disturb the wildlife. Some species are sometimes endangered.

Together, let's make every stay an opportunity to preserve the natural treasures of the French Riviera, today and for future generations!
