Nice Carnival 2022
The Nice Carnival 2022 edition will take place! 🎊
In the leading trio of Carnivals around the world with Venice and Rio, the Nice Carnival has been thrilling the hearts of Niçois and tourists from all over the world since 1873.
Despite a forced break in 2021, we had to wait a little bit but the good news fell this week; even if, in the current context, some adjustments will be announced soon.
It is therefore with pleasure that the Nice Carnival, France’s first Carnival, will take place at Place Masséna from February 11th to 27th on the theme of the King of the Animals 🦁
To begin with, meet for the Opening Ceremony which will take place on Friday 11th February at 6.30 p.m., the start of two festive weeks in the heart of Nice.
Wednesdays and Saturdays evenings will be dedicated to the illuminated corsos. Parade of floats and big heads to the rhythm of music groups and visual entertainment for a burlesque and magical show, all in a festive and popular atmosphere.
Another highlight of the Carnival, the Flower Battles!
Every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to the parade of costumed actresses parading on magnificent floats adorned with flowers 80% of local production. Festival of colors where nearly 250,000 flowers and 21 tonnes of mimosa are distributed to the public.
Finally, a little novelty this year, the Grand Corso. On Saturday February 12, the carnival floats and those from the Battle of Flowers will be brought together for the first time for a parade that is already shaping up to be awe-inspiring.
The King is dead long live the King 2023! On Sunday February 27, appointment made for the closing ceremony and the cremation of the King. Free show from 6 p.m.
