The international OVNI video art festival takes place at the West End Hotel

Le festival international d’art vidéo OVNI s’installe à l’Hôtel West End

The OVNi international video art festival returns from November 17 to December 3, 2023 for its 9th edition, taking over various emblematic and unusual places on the Côte d’Azur with the theme “The Whisper of the Stars“. This year, the festival has the honor of having as godmother the famous journalist Laure Adler and, as guest artist of honor, the photographer and videographer Manuela Marques.

Like previous editions, the festival takes over five hotels in Nice from December 1st to 3rd: the Windsor Hotel, the Villa Victoria Hotel, the Le Grimaldi Hotel and The Deck Hotel, as well as the West Hotel End. These five Nice establishments join forces in the name of art and open their doors to the public for a weekend. They invite artists to take over the rooms, windows or common areas to reveal their contemporary video works.

For its part and for the 4th year, the West End Hotel will host the festival as part of the OVNI Sud Emergence Prize aimed at rewarding emerging artists from the PACA region. Arnaud Biais, Louis David, Dazzled Project, Roméo Dini, Juliette Gadenne, Abderrahim “Rouji” Kebbab, Dosoung Kim, Lou le Forban, Guilherme Marques, Simon Pastoors, Jeanne Rocher, Sébastien Schneider and Melisa Yagmur Saydi will be the artists in the running for win this prize. The opportunity to discover the future leading artists of video art and contemporary art in a creative and dynamic atmosphere. This exhibition is thus witness to the video art of a new generation which reveals a common aesthetic, well anchored in its territory.
