Every month, the West End Hotel**** puts the spotlight on one of its employees through a series of questions designed to give us a better understanding of their job and what motivates them on a daily basis. Today, the hotel presents Ingrid Chin, who is in charge of seminars and banquets at the 4-star establishment.

Could you please introduce yourself?

My name is Ingrid Chin and I’ve been in charge of seminars and banquets at the West End Hotel since August 2024. My background is a bit atypical. I started out in the hotel business over 20 years ago, then worked in sales, first internally and then externally, notably in the Paris region, at Concorde Lafayette and Radisson Blu. I then moved to the South of France, where I held hotel management and sales management positions. Before joining the West End Hotel, I worked in a professional sports club, where I managed the organization of all events.

What do you find most exciting about your job?

I’m passionate about organizing events for customers, being in contact with them and, above all, satisfying them. It’s really that feeling of customer satisfaction that’s the greatest reward for me.

What advice would you give to a new employee?

I’d say you have to be versatile, but also kind to customers, colleagues and, above all, yourself. This is fundamental, because without it, you won’t last in this business. Kindness is at the heart of a job well done.

What’s your favorite place at the West End Hotel?

Without a doubt, the restaurant Le Siècle, especially the interior. It reminds me of Parisian brasseries, which, as a Parisian, gives me a little air of home here in the South. Overall, I really like the hotel. I chose to work there because I had already fallen in love with the place.

What are your fondest memories of the hotel?

I don’t have any special memories, but what I do appreciate is that every day is different. Every event is unique. For me, it’s these good everyday moments that make this job so rich, more than any single exceptional memory.

What advice would you give customers to make the most of their stay?

I’d advise them to make the most of the hotel: the rooms are magnificent and the restaurant Le Siècle serves excellent cuisine. I’d also recommend a visit to Vieux-Nice, the hinterland as far as Monaco… The region is splendid. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful in France. Between Cap d’Antibes and the Pays de Grasse, there’s so much to discover: authentic gastronomy, a sunny climate and breathtaking scenery.
