Each month, the West End Hotel**** is delighted to shine a spotlight on one of its employees through a series of questions, in order to learn more about their job and what motivates them in their role. Today, the hotel is honouring Georges Pradier, manager of the West End Hotel.

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Georges Pradier and I have been managing the West End Hotel for just over a year. My career in the hotel industry began more than three decades ago, first in Cannes, then in Nice, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Courchevel. I have held various positions, always guided by a sense of service and a desire to provide guests with a memorable experience. Joining the West End Hotel was an honour: this establishment is an institution in Nice, steeped in history and charm.

What do you love most about your job?

The heart of our profession is people: guests, of course, but also the teams. Hospitality is about creating moments that linger in the memory, offering a sincere and warm welcome, but also surprising guests with discreet yet thoughtful touches. Every day is different, and it is this energy and constant movement that fascinate me.

What advice would you give to a new employee?

I would tell them to observe, listen and, above all, maintain a desire to please. Elegance in service cannot be imposed; it is transmitted and learned by example. The key is rigour combined with kindness. Never forget that behind every customer there is a story, an expectation, an emotion.

What is your favourite place at the West End Hotel?

Actually, there are several! Whether it’s the panoramic terrace of the Ambassador Suite on the top floor, with a panoramic view of Nice, the mountains and the sea. I also love the terrace lounge bar of our restaurant Le Siècle, with its live music evenings, which is also a place for sharing where guests enjoy special, often unforgettable moments. Finally, there’s the Russian lounge, for seminars with a sea view! In fact, there are so many places to enjoy at the West End Hotel that I invite our guests to come and discover them during their stay… and to tell us which ones are their favourites!

What are your fondest memories of the hotel?

There have been some wonderful events: royal weddings, film shoots, prestigious meetings. But my fondest memories are often the simplest ones: the satisfied look on a loyal guest’s face, the development of an employee I’ve seen grow, or those moments of solidarity and team cohesion during major challenges.

What advice would you give guests to help them enjoy their stay?

Take the time to experience Nice! Stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, explore the narrow streets of Old Nice, try some socca at the Cours Saleya market, visit the Matisse or Chagall museums… And let yourself be carried away by the city’s gentle, sunny atmosphere. At the hotel, don’t hesitate to ask our team for advice: we are here to help you enjoy a tailor-made experience.
