Each month, the West End Hotel **** highlights one of its employees through a series of questions designed to give a better understanding of their job and what motivates them on a daily basis. Today, the hotel presents Saverio Greco, barman.

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Saverio, I am a barman and I joined the West End Hotel at the beginning of the year. It’s been a wonderful adventure that started just a few months ago, but I already feel very much at home here. I hope to continue working with the whole team for a long time to come.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I appreciate most is the contact with customers. I enjoy welcoming them, creating a friendly atmosphere and sharing a pleasant moment with them. Working behind a bar is a bit like being on stage: you have to bring energy and smile. I also attach great importance to the preparation of drinks, including cocktails, coffees and others, because every detail counts.

What advice would you give to a new employee?

I would tell them that, above all, they need to be passionate about the job. It’s a job where you meet a lot of people, and it requires listening skills, empathy and reliability. It’s a rewarding position on a human level and a real pleasure to do when you enjoy interacting and sharing with others.

What is your favourite place at the West End Hotel?

Without hesitation, the terrace of Le Siècle restaurant, which has been recently renovated. It has a fresh and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a convivial moment. I also really like the hotel lobby, with its charm and timeless elegance.

What are your fondest memories of the hotel?

I’m still finding my feet here, so I don’t have many memories yet, but I’ve already had the chance to enjoy some wonderful evenings at the opera in the company of warm and passionate guests. I’m sure there will be many more moments to enrich this experience.

What advice would you give guests to help them enjoy their stay?

I would simply tell them to come and discover this superb hotel! The restaurant is excellent, as is the bar, and above all, the welcome is exceptional. The West End Hotel really has something unique to offer each of its guests.
