On Sunday 9 November 2025, the Riviera will be buzzing with excitement for the 17th edition of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon. Much more than just a race, it is a true celebration of sport and the Mediterranean way of life. The second largest marathon in France after Paris, it attracts thousands of runners from around the world every year, drawn by the beauty of a route between sky and sea.

A legendary route from Nice to Cannes, finishing at the Palais des Festivals

Since 2008, nearly 190,562 participants representing more than 94 nations have taken up the challenge of this legendary marathon. In 2024, 18,000 runners took part, nearly a third of whom were international. Remarkably, nearly half of them choose Nice-Cannes for their very first marathon. Voted ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Tourist Marathon’ by Forbes Travel Guide in 2018, the event offers exceptional views, from the palm trees of Nice’s Promenade des Anglais to the finish line opposite Cannes’ Croisette.

And this year there’s a big change: the finish line will be set up in front of the steps of the legendary Palais des Festivals. A spectacular finale, worthy of this unique marathon!

The Breakfast Run, the day before the Marathon

The festivities begin the day before with the traditional Breakfast Run, which is free and open to all. Between 200 and 300 participants gather for a morning run along the Promenade des Anglais. More than just a training session, it is a moment of sharing and good humour, ideal for enjoying the unique atmosphere of the marathon while admiring the Mediterranean Sea.

The start of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon at the foot of the West End Hotel

The big start is at 8 a.m. sharp, preceded at 7:57 a.m. by the disabled athletes. Whether it’s the 42.195 km marathon, a half-marathon or a relay, each participant will enjoy a unique experience.

Amidst all this excitement, the West End Hotel offers a prime location and services designed especially for runners. Located just a few steps from the starting line, the hotel offers an exclusive package with breakfast included. On the morning of the race, a buffet will be served from 5:30 a.m. and a late check-out will allow you to prolong your comfort after the race. Spectators will be able to cheer on the runners from their rooms overlooking the Promenade des Anglais.
