Every month, the West End Hotel**** puts the spotlight on one of its employees through a series of questions designed to give us a better understanding of his job and what motivates him in his daily work. Today, the hotel presents Adrien Attia, Assistant Manager.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role?

Hello, my name is Adrien Attia, and I’ve been Assistant Manager at the West End Hotel since last October, so I’ve been in the job for about eight months. I’m 25 years old. I’m still quite young, but I’ve already acquired a certain amount of experience in the hotel business, a field I’m very passionate about.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I like most of all is the diversity and versatility of the job. No two days are alike: the assignments are varied, the challenges numerous and we even have to travel to different departments. This wealth of experience means that I’m constantly learning, which is very stimulating. It’s this variety that makes my day-to-day life so exciting.

What advice would you give to a new employee?

I’d advise them to be sincere, but above all curious. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, to delve deeper into subjects and to seize every opportunity to learn. I see every experience as a learning opportunity and I think that the West End Hotel is a very good place to learn.

What’s your favourite place at the West End Hotel?

Without a doubt, the Palmeraie. It’s a place I particularly like, especially early in the morning: the atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. Then, a little later in the day, around 9 or 10 o’clock, the activity slowly picks up, and the atmosphere is always pleasant. It’s a place where everyone starts their day with energy and a smile.

What are your best memories of the hotel?

I haven’t had the chance to experience a full season yet, but one of my best memories is undoubtedly last Christmas. The preparations, the decorations, the collective participation… Each member of the team brought his or her own personal touch. We even had the pleasure of giving gifts to customers and staff. There was a real sense of magic and cohesion between the teams.

What advice would you give customers to make the most of their stay?

Quite simply: take advantage of all our services. Start with a good breakfast, then don’t hesitate to make a reservation at the restaurant – the menu is excellent, the team is fantastic and the atmosphere is friendly. Above all, don’t be afraid to meet the members of staff and ask them questions: we’re here to help and advise you. We’ll always find a solution to make your stay a success and leave you with fond memories.
